My name is Chris Spall and I own Muscatatuck River Beagles, located just 40 miles north of Louisville Kentucky off I-65. Hunting is my passion and everything that I strive to accomplish with my beagles has to do with producing the very best Rabbit dog that I can. I breed for nose, brains, line control, voice, conformation, drive and hunt in my hounds, as well as a calm temperament that I believe gives them an edge when ran with rough or over aggressive hounds.
I am an AKC licensed judge and I’ve judged everything from Traditional Brace to MAB Gun Dog Brace to Small Pack Option of Rabbit under the United Beagle Gun Dog Federation to Small Pack Option on Rabbit under the Mid West Gun Dog Association. Although each format runs a completely different style of hound, I don’t believe I can become a true houndsman if I can’t learn to appreciate each one for how they are bred to perform.
I am a member of White Water Beagle Club in Indiana under the Mid West Beagle Gun Dog Association and it is the Mid West Style Hound that I prefer. I like to trial when I can but given the option to trial or hunt, I’m gone huntin. Come and run with me sometime.
